We keep coming back to this topic and discussing studies and trials that show chiropractic care is the best treatment for back and neck pain.  Another glorious study that pitched chiropractic care against traditional medical care, massage and physiotherapy.

Here’s how it breaks down into the two groups.

Group 1:  Advised to walk 5-15 minutes every day, take acetaminophen every 6-8 hours and chiropractic adjustments for 4 weeks.  (Have to say I’m not sure why the muddied the waters and added the acetaminophen into this group, but we will talk about that in just a little bit)

Group 2:  This group followed up the family physicians and was given what ever treatment was deemed appropriate.  The treatments ranged from physiotherapy, NSAIDS (ibuprofen and naproxen), massage and opioids.  This group received care for 16 weeks.  (4 TIMES LONGER THAN THE GROUP RECEIVING CHIROPRACTIC CARE)

And the big results of the study:

Group 1, the chiropractic group had a 2700% greater improvement than Group 2.  And get this, 78% of the members of Group 2 were still taking opioid pain medications after 16 weeks of care.

Even though the chiropractic group (Group 1) was taking acetaminophen we could probably safely ignore that since family physicians would have been able to prescribe that to their group as well with their free leash of care.

Elements Chiropractic is accepting new patients and participates with most major insurances.
